MIRAMAR – The City of Miramar Police Department, Broward Sheriff’s Office of West Park/Pembroke Park and Broward Crime Stoppers have joined Commissioner Alexandra P. Davis and West Park’s Vice Mayor Felicia M. Brunson in hosting a gun buyback event in the City
According to Commissioner Davis, “I think it is very important that as a City we do our part in helping to get unwanted guns of the streets and preventing them from getting into the wrong hands.”
This will take place on April 20th 2013 between the hours of 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at Christway Baptist Church located at 3800 South Douglas Rd, Miramar, FL 33025.
Individuals who would like to safely dispose of their guns are encouraged to join us. No questions will be asked! Gift cards of up to $200.00 will be given for each firearm. We are asking that you help to ensure that your gun(s) will never fall into the hands of those who may do harm.
For officer safety purposes, those attending the event should arrive with their weapons unloaded and locked in the trunk or another inaccessible part of their vehicle. Drivers will be asked to stay in their cars and officers will access the weapons directly.
BB guns, pellet guns, or plastic guns can be donated, but are not eligible for compensation.
