PARADISE ISLAND, Bahamas – With a sweeping multi-million dollar renovation of Comfort Suites Paradise Island nearing completion, eager anticipation is building and the hotel is already getting high marks from their travel partners and guests alike.
The hotel’s most comprehensive refurbishment since its opening is generating positive feedback with the majority of the 232 Junior Suites already complete. The renovation features new bedding, lush sofa beds, elegant draperies, lamps, notable artwork and plush area rugs installed in the bedrooms, while guest bathrooms received new granite counter tops and soft mirror lighting.
Further enhancements throughout the hotel include meeting room refurbishments – the hotel’s three meeting rooms the Hummingbird, Flamingo and Pelican rooms have new been upgraded in appearance and functionality which include carpets, lighting as well as state-of-the-art meeting and banquet equipment. A new Business Center has been added, and an on-property sales office, set up to provide high level service to local corporate meetings and the group events markets.
Guests will also enjoy a warm Bahamian welcome in the renovated hotel lobby and casual lobby bar. A mahogany front desk and bar-front, granite counter tops, new draperies, lamps and furniture, were all installed. A new vibrant color scheme has given these and other public areas a new look, including the guest corridors, which also received new carpeting.
The hotel’s restaurant, Crusoe’s – where the Comfort Suites signature complimentary full hot breakfast buffet is offered daily – now features new tables, chairs and dark wood buffet cabinets with granite counter tops. The pool patio deck, including the popular wedding gazebo, has undergone a substantial refurbishment and lighting enhancement. The hotel landscape also received careful touches to echo the lush, tropical atmosphere of the Bahamas. A repaved parking lot, new wheelchair ramp on the property’s west end, a new roof and new state-of-the-art fire alarm system are some of the additional completed elements of the project.

The refresh went beyond just the bricks and mortar of the physical property and straight to the heart of the hotel – its staff. Employees benefited from training courses developed in conjunction with Atlantis University. Each of the more than 110 employees at Comfort Suites Paradise Island has now completed courses in various disciplines in the comprehensive training program.

As a result of the recent changes, and as a direct result of increasingly favorable customer comment surveys, TripAdvisor awarded the coveted “Certificate of Excellence” to the hotel after more than 1,000 favorable comments were generated for the property on the TripAdvisor website in less than a six month period.
