CMEx TEAM TO COVER CARIBBEAN MARKETPLACE

SCOTCH PLAINS, New Jersey – The Caribbean Media Exchange (CMEx) will send out catchy update briefs from Caribbean Marketplace slated for the storied Atlantis resort on Paradise Island in the Bahamas this weekend.

The nonprofit media organization, which last month hosted its 20th symposium in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands on using tourism to improve the lives of Caribbean people and their communities, will update Marketplace delegates as well as those unable to attend the January 22 to 24 convention via its website at: www.cmexmedia.org and Twitter handle CMExmedia.

In the Bahamas, the CMEx team will gather and disseminate convention vignettes from press conferences, interviews and stories collected from the floor and the corridors of the region’s premier travel and tourism meeting. The 30th Caribbean Marketplace is produced by the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association (CHTA).

“By posting stories on our website, media practitioners, industry and news organizations will be able to quickly use our easy-to-digest content so that tourism stakeholders across the world can be updated on the latest developments in Caribbean tourism,” said CMEx president Bevan Springer.

“We recognize the need for brevity, accuracy and for speed in this rapidly changing industry so our CMEx team will ensure there is steady stream of highlights emerging from Marketplace,” Springer asserted.

Springer will be joined by veteran journalist, tourism and development expert Lelei LeLaulu, and web specialist Pete Mansel, both CMEx board members and communications consultants.

“We welcome the CMEx team as well as the large contingent of local, regional and international journalists who will join us in the Bahamas this weekend for the 30th anniversary of Caribbean Marketplace,” said Alec Sanguinetti, CHTA’s Director General and CEO.

Travel and tourism buyers and suppliers as well as allied members of the industry who are interested in submitting their news updates can email [email protected].
