City of Lauderhill offering foreclosure help with Florida Housing Help Workshop

LAUDERHILL – The City of Lauderhill will be offering a Florida Housing Help Workshop on Saturday, October 16, 2010, at 10 AM, at Lauderhill’s City Hall. The Workshop is designed to educate and assist families facing foreclosure.

The Florida Housing Help (FHH) Workshop will begin at 10 am and conclude at 4 pm with a panel discussion at 10:30 am. City Hall is located at 5581 W. Oakland Park Boulevard.

The FHH Workshop will include opportunities to personally meet with mortgage lenders, HUD-certified housing counselors, representatives from the Lauderhill Housing Authority, credit counseling service providers, Legal Aid of Broward, attorneys from Broward Residential Mortgage Foreclosure Mediation program, realtors from the CFO’s Financial Literacy Council, the IRS, the Florida Office of Financial Regulation, Workforce One, Chase Bank, and many more institutions and organizations.

Attendees will be able to meet with insurance specialists that give you tips on how to lower your insurance premiums and apply for grants to weatherize your home. (Chase customers can get personal on-site assistance with their own home loans. Assistance includes forbearance, modifications, and retention solutions)

FHH is brought to you by Lauderhill Commissioner M. Margaret Bates in conjunction with the Chief Financial Officer of the State of Florida, Alex Sink – from the Florida Department of Financial Services.

You may want to bring your drivers license or picture ID, social security card, recent paycheck stubs, bank account statements, income tax returns, W-2 forms, hardship letter explaining delinquency of mortgage or any gap of employment, recent correspondence from mortgage company, mortgage statement, current tax bill and proof of homeowners’ insurance policy.
