“Christmas in JA” to showcase on TV in New York

NEW YORK – The Caribbean International Network (CIN) will be presenting the program “Christmas in Ja” for the 5th year which entails a wide variety of Christmas customs, caroling, fun, laughter, partying and greetings on CIN channel 73 New York this Sunday, December 23 and December 30 at 5:30 pm. and repeated Thursday, December 27 and January 3.

For those of you who are not old enough to remember the old customs, join Allison Watson, our host as she takes you down memory lane and reminisce about the preparations for Christmas; concerts at the Ward Theatre… Jamaica’s oldest theatre; Grand Market; the food and drink … chicken, turkey, rice and peas, sorrel and more. Hear about the Johnkuno Bands ….. the meaning of the instruments, the celebrations of Boxing Day, the Garden party, the old time decorations of the Christmas tree and New Year’s Day celebrations.

Also don’t forget to watch out for your friends and loved ones as they send greetings not only from the municipality of Kingston but also from other parishes. We will also have greetings and messages from well known personalities as well as institutions. Our ceremonial Christmas Tree lighting is a beauty to behold.
