Puerto Rico Hotel Tops The Elite List

 

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico – Choice Hotels International, Inc. (NYSE: CHH), one of the world’s leading hotel companies, has recognized the Quality Inn El Portal, located in Puerto Rico’s trendy Condado Beach area, as one of the company’s top performing hotels of its Caribbean portfolio.

The hotel walked away with two of Choice Hotels’ “Caribbean Star Awards” during a recent presentation at the company’s headquarters in Rockville, Maryland.

 

Based on its Likelihood-to-Recommend scores, an industry benchmark, Quality Inn El Portal captured the “Most Improved Hotel in the Caribbean” with an increase of seven percent over last year.

 

The hotel also scored the highest gains in RevPAR (Revenue Per Available Room) or the strongest gains in revenue versus the competition with an incredible gain of 17.2% in the RevPAR Index through the end of July 2014.

“Return on investment is one of the primary goals of being part of any franchise system which includes driving top-line revenue and bottom-line profitability and we are very pleased with how the management team at Quality Inn El Portal makes this happen through close attention to delivering an exceptional guest experience,” said Bill Clegg, regional vice president for product development of Choice Hotels International.

 

The neighboring Comfort Inn and Suites in Levittown in Puerto Rico received the Choice Privileges award for the highest enrollments of new members to the Choice Privileges loyalty program by a single Choice hotel in the Caribbean. The hotel registered an outstanding 805 new members through the end of July 2014.

 

Also in Puerto Rico, Comfort Inn San Juan received Choice Privileges Elite Recognition for recognizing guests as valued Choice Privileges members when they arrive at the hotel, scoring 57 percent.

 

In the category of service excellence, the Comfort Suites Seven Mile Beach hotel, Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands captured the award for the “Highest Likelihood-to-Recommend”. Through the end of July, this Caribbean hotel achieved an outstanding score of 8.69 out of 10. 

 

Clegg said Choice remains dedicated to the Caribbean and is excited about potential further expansion of additional hotels in the region throughout the coming years.
