Young contestants drawn from Miami-Dade elementary, middle and high schools will face off on their knowledge of Haitian history. The students’ teachers have been preparing them for the competition for the past two months.

“Every year, I’m amazed at how much children from all different cultural and ethnic backgrounds know about Haiti’s rich history,” Chairman Monestime said.
