Celebrity Makeup Artist Rory Lee Honored in Miami Women’s Month Exhibit

MIAMI – In honor of Women’s History Month celebrity makeup artist Rory Lee was among a group of 34 woman trailblazers was selected to be photographed as part of an exhibition by The Miami-Dade County Black Affairs Advisory Board and the Commission for Women, curated by the Miami Urban Contemporary Experience.

In a ceremony hosted on Tuesday, March 7, she was recognized along with her phenomenal counterparts at the second annual “Vessels: Women of Substance” photo exhibit at the Miami-Dade Public Library in downtown Miami.

The ladies’ images were captured by photographer Joe Wesley, and are included in the exhibit meant to show the unique beauty and cultural contributions of African American women.

Even her for-profit company’s primary objective is to build a stronger community. “What I do is bigger than me and makeup. I’m supporting the artists that are a part of my team to build their business and help their vision come to life.”

Visitors to the Stephen P. Clark Government Center can see the “Vessels: Women of Substance” photo exhibit through the end of March.
