Celebrating Excellence: The 100 Black Men’s Lifetime Achievement Award

100 Black Men of America, Inc. to honor outstanding individuals at gala

HOLLYWOOD – The 100 Black Men of America, Inc. will honor several outstanding individuals. They will recognize their achievements and contributions to society. This will happen at a black-tie gala on Saturday, June 19, 2010. The gala is part of the organization’s 24th Annual Conference. The conference will take place at the Westin Diplomat Golf Resort & Spa. It will run from June 16 to June 20, 2010, in Hollywood, FL.

Award Recipients

Tom Joyner - Lifetime Achievement Award - 100 Black Men

Legendary actress Cicely Tyson, and the Fly Jock, Tom Joyner will receive the 100’s Lifetime Achievement Award for their exemplary work in Arts & Entertainment. Former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations and Atlanta Mayor Andrew Young will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award for Leadership in Mentoring and Philanthropy along with Rod Gillum and Esther Silver Parker. Alonzo and Tracy Wilson Mourning will receive the 100’s Trailblazer Award for their work in the South Florida community through Alonzo Mourning Charities and the Honey Shine Mentoring Program for girls along with Dr. Matthew Plummer for his community activism and service in the Houston area. The Honorable James Clyburn (D-SC) will be receiving the 100’s Lifetime Achievement Award in Government.

Lauderdale, look forward to celebrating and honoring the achievements of these great Americans who have so proudly represented our communities,” stated Albert E.
