Causion’s Album Launch party, “Nuff Niceness”
HOLLYWOOD – It was standing room only at Jazziz last Thursday night (January 10) as an enthusiastic crowd of celebrities, media and industry personnel converged for the launch of Stella’s Kid’s, the latest release from Antiguan Reggae Ambassador Causion.
The evening started with a live broadcast on Mystik 1400 radio with C.Roy, who later selected music before the live performance.
In attendance was Antigua’s Consul General Mr. Ian Sweeney who gave a brief welcome on behalf of the People and Government of Antigua. He stated how proud they were of Causion’s success, and looked forward to him representing the country on the international scene.

Formalities aside, the party got started with the introduction of the gospel group Shaze, by Master of Ceremonies John T of WAVS’ Morning Ride.
The group performed one song and based on the response from the audience, it was a warning shot of things to come from this trio of vibrant young ladies.
Without delay, the man of the hour hit the stage dressed in jeans, a white shirt and locks flowing. He opened the set with Stepping, an up-tempo dance track from the album and flowed into Red, Red and Gwaan So as if doing a medley. Immediately the crowd responded with shouts and cat calls and Causion, who was at ease on stage, welcomed everyone and thanked them for their support.
His performance was flawless, with the backing band Air Brakes providing the groove to allow the artist to exercise his voice and expose his talents. When the band struck the introductory notes for Little Secrets, the first hit released from the album, the crowd erupted and the ladies rushed to the front of the stage and began dancing and singing.
The party was in full swing as Causion began to hand roses to the ladies during his rendition of There’s No Me, Without You, a song made popular by the Manhattans.

As the crowd continued to rock, Causion performed a couple songs from his One Life to Live album before closing his set to much applause and shouts. After his performance he mingled with the crowd posing for pictures and signing autographs for fans a number of whom purchased a copy of Stella’s Kids. DJ C-Roy continued the party with a selection of dance hits.
Produced by Gregory Bailey and Jason Sterling for the Fullwerks label, Stella’s Kid is available from VP Records Distributors, and is also available digitally online through I-Tunes.
