Causion visits St. Thomas, V.I. on promotional blitz

ST. THOMAS, Virgin Island – It was a very busy weekend for reggae singer/songwriter Causion as he spent last weekend – February 8-10 – in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands on a promotional blitz supporting the release of his recent CD, Stella’s Kids.

Once on the island, it was a very tight schedule of interviews and appearances for the Antiguan Reggae Ambassador, who briefly lived in St. Thomas some years ago. His first stop was at 105Jamz with female radio personality “Da Realist” who showed a lot of love to the artist. The phones lit up when she played tracks from the album – especially the hit “Little Secrets” – as listeners called in and expressed their liking for the album.

Next stop was at 1340 AM “Lucky13” with veteran radio personality Peter Ottley, who has been featuring the album on his program since its release. He was happy to have Causion in the studio to have a chat and share his ‘Little Secrets’. Ottley expressed surprise to see an Antiguan being so prominent in the reggae world, but was happy for his accomplishments and wished him continuous success.

A brief stop with DJ Dalvey over at Kiss FM followed and then it was back at 105Jamz to hang out with DJ Red Lion who had all of St. Thomas rocking to the sounds of “Red Red” which was his favorite track from the “Stella’s Kid’s” CD. Red Lion had the town on lock down repeatedly playing “Red Red” between chitchat with Causion.

Morning man Emmet P of 105Jamz had Causion up early on Saturday morning before making appearances at International Records and Tapes where a steady stream of customers stopped by to purchase autographed copies of Stella’s Kids CD and take photos with the artist. Later it was over to the TuTu mall for the launch of the St. Thomas Carnival then a visit with Ras Regg at 105Jamz. An impromptu party broke out as regular contributor Nashamba-I dropped by with a delicious array of Ital stew, juices and cakes for Causion and his entourage.

“I was very encouraged by the response in St. Thomas, especially since many of the people recognized me from the TV program ‘On the road with Causion’ which airs here on a weekly basis,” stated Causion. “I am looking forward to going back to St. Thomas to perform for the people and show my appreciation for their support.”

While in St. Thomas, Causion was hosted by “Big O” of International Records who was instrumental in arranging the brief promotional blitz.
