NEVIS, West Indies — Twice is nice for the management and staff members at Nisbet Plantation Beach Club. In its 2011 World’s Best Awards, Travel + Leisure named the Nevis beach resort the #1 hotel in the Caribbean, Bermuda and the Bahamas for the second year in a row.
Nisbet Plantation is the only resort from the two-island nation of St. Kitts and Nevis recognized by Travel + Leisure in this year’s World’s Best Awards. With a high score of 95.24, Nisbet Plantation also earned a #15 spot on the prestigious Top 50 Hotels in the World list.
Additionally, Nisbet Plantation was listed as one of the Top 10 Family Hotels in the Caribbean, Bermuda and Bahamas. This is the second year in a row Nisbet Plantation earned a spot on the best family hotels list, maintaining a ranking of #5.

Travel + Leisure’s sixteenth annual awards are based upon the results of the World’s Best survey, which asks readers to rate their favorite hotels, cities, islands, cruise lines, airlines, car rental agencies, spas, tour operators and safari outfitters. Hotels are rated based on rooms, facilities, location, service, restaurant, food and value.
Mr. Holmes, General Manager of Nisbet Plantation, and Mr. David Dodwell, the resort owner who was named 2010 Hotelier of the Year by the Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Association, will receive the award for Nisbet Plantation at the Travel + Leisure World’s Best Awards ceremony on July 14.

With the addition of the two new awards from Travel + Leisure, Nisbet Plantation has earned a total of eight honors in 2011.
