Caribbean-American in South Florida publishes adventure novel

FT. LAUDERDALE – Cavell Spence-Samuels, has joined the growing ranks of Caribbean-Americans in South Florida who have become published authors. Pirated is Spence-Samuels’ action/adventure book released in November 2007.

Pirated follows the life of the main character, Rusty, whose parents are murdered when he is only 12 years old. Over the years, Rusty plots, schemes and waits to avenge their death. The story is filled with intrigue, secrets and romance.

Spence-Samuels was born in Jamaica, and as a child had a passion for writing stories for her school and magazines. However, she didn’t pursue her writing dream. Instead, she studied secretarial science and business law at Jamaica’s University of Technology, Arts and Science. After immigrating to the United States and becoming an American citizen, Spence-Samuels pulled out that long hidden, but not forgotten talent and went to work. Besides Pirated, she is readying four other books for publication by the end of 2008.
