TAMPA – After a jury deadlocked last month in Buju Banton’s federal drug trial his attorney, David Markus has been requesting the reggae sing be released on bail.
U.S. Magistrate Anthony Porcelli is considering signing Banton’s bail of $250,000 plus require him to wear an electronic monitoring device, and that he hire a private security detail of police officers to be with him 24 hours a day to ensure he does not flee the country.
Buju Banton is expected to have a retrial in December.
