Broward County Plans Stimulus Grants Informational Workshop for the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act

FT. LAUDERDALE – As part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), Broward County expects to apply for and/or receive a large number of federal and state grants. A community workshop will be held to discuss Broward County’s response to the ARRA on Friday, March 27, from 9 a.m. to noon in Room 430 of the Governmental Center, 115 S. Andrews Ave., Fort Lauderdale.

The agenda for the workshop, which is designed for entities who are interested in developing stimulus-generated projects, including municipalities and non-profits, will include:

• General overview of the ARRA Stimulus Package
• Potential funding for Broward County
• Introduction to Broward County’s new economic stimulus Web site, created to share information about
the federal stimulus bill and how it impacts our community
• Overview of policies and procedures for submitting applications through Broward County Government
• Basic grant writing training
