BankUnited presents Lauderdale Lakes Commissioner Hazelle Rogers with Award for Outstanding Community Service

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – BankUnited has presented Lauderdale Lakes Commissioner Hazelle Rogers with an award for her outstanding community service.

Branch Manager Tanya Ragbeer presented the award to Rogers, who has served as a city commissioner since 1996, during a reception at BankUnited’s Lauderdale Lakes branch. The more than 100 attendees included the Lauderdale Lakes Mayor Samuel Brown, Consulate General of Grenada, Richard Allen Nixon; Carmen Bartlett, branch manager of the Jamaica National Building Society Overseas; National Football League Hall of Famer and former Miami Dolphins player Dwight Stephenson; and VisionBROWARD project manager Devin Avery.

“Hazelle has implemented programs that have reflected the spirit of Lauderdale Lakes’ Caribbean community and resulted in improved economic opportunities for area residents and businesses,” Ragbeer said.

BankUnited’s Ragbeer is president of the Greater Caribbean American Chamber of Commerce (GCACC). She has worked closely with Rogers, a GCACC board member, on a number of economic initiatives and social events.
