American Advertising Federation Honors Mark McKenzie of Cox Media Group with the 2013 Most Promising Minority Students Distinguished Alumni Award

MIAMI – The American Advertising Federation(AAF) honored Cox Radio Media Group’s Account Marketing Solutions Manager Mark McKenzie as one of the American Advertising Federation’s Most Promising Minority Students Distinguished Alumni Award (MPMS) for 2013, at their Building Bridges For Our Future luncheon at Roosevelt Hotel in New York City.

McKenzie began charting his career in 1997, while he was a part of the MPMS. He was a recipient of the AAF Vance L. Stickell Memorial internship, which afforded him the rare opportunity to intern with the prestigious advertising sales staff of the Wall Street Journal in New York City. During his 13-year career, McKenzie has made an indelible mark in the advertising and marketing industry, while positioning himself as one of South Florida’s standout marketing experts.

Having created a myriad of strategic partnerships with an impressive list of clients that include Bacardi USA, Heineken USA, Walt Disney World, BET Networks, Moet Hennessy to name a few, McKenzie has generated a solid contribution of over $15 million dollars in sales for South Florida’s #1 rated Hip Hop/R&B station WEDR-FM 99 Jamz. McKenzie’s business mantra is to take measurable risks and never be afraid to push yourself beyond the boundaries of your comfort zone. His deeply rooted hard work ethics has blazed a trail that few individuals can lay claim to.

Mark holds a BA, Journalist degree, from Florida International University. In his spare time he scuba dives and competes in the bike race for The National MS Society-South Florida Chapter. He lives in Hollywood, Florida with his beautiful wife and two children.
