Air Jamaica to fly media to St. Lucia
CASTRIES, St. Lucia – Caribbean carrier Air Jamaica is spearheading another initiative to expose the wonders of the island of St. Lucia to international audiences.
This week, the airline partners with the St. Lucia Tourist Board and hoteliers on the island to promote St. Lucia to reporters, writers and editors from the United States.
Arriving in St Lucia this week will be journalists from The Amsterdam News, Caribbean Life, Caribbean Media Corporation, Caribbean Media Enterprise (Air America Radio), CEO Traveler, The New York Carib News, Odyssey Couleur Magazine, Sister 2 Sister magazine, Today’s Black Woman, WLIB Radio and other outlets.
“We continue to host the media since resuming our non-stop service from New York to St. Lucia earlier this year,” said Air Jamaica senior executive George deMercado, who noted that additionally, special media rates have enabled journalists to cover what is truly a breathtaking Caribbean experience.
The media will experience Air Jamaica’s renowned in-flight hospitality from New York’s JFK Airport to Hewanorra International Airport and sample the hotel products offerings of Almond Resorts, Anse Chastanet Resort, Bay Gardens Hotel, Coconut Bay Resort, Coco Resorts, Ladera, Sandals Resorts and Sunswept Resorts in an action-packed itinerary.
During their four-day stay, the journalists will sample St. Lucia’s beautiful attractions by land and by sea from the north to the south of the island, including the Diamond Botanical Gardens in Soufriere, featuring mineral baths and a picturesque waterfall.
