Air Jamaica launches inaugural Fort Lauderdale – Barbados Flight with a special web fare sale

KINGSTON, Jamaica – Air Jamaica launched the inaugural flight of its new non-stop service from Fort Lauderdale to Barbados on July 22, making it the only airline that flies non-stop from Fort Lauderdale to Barbados.

All passengers and crew on the flight were included in the celebration and fanfare, enjoying refreshments and receiving gift bags before the celebratory ribbon cutting.

Once on board, all passengers were given an inaugural flight certificate commemorating Air Jamaica’s newest non-stop flight, which runs Friday, Saturday and Sunday between FLL and BGI. Of course, once the flight was in the air, passengers enjoyed Air Jamaica’s famous Lovebird Hospitality, complimentary champagne and free in-flight meals and entertainment – all part of what makes Air Jamaica the World’s Best Airline to the Caribbean.

The airline wants to share the success of its new Ft. Lauderdale – Barbados route with all of its passengers by offering a special discounted web fare found on www.airjamaica.com. With this new fare, passengers flying from Ft. Lauderdale to Barbados will pay $125 each way, based on a roundtrip purchase, when booked through the Web site. Tickets must be purchased by July 31, 2007 for travel through September 2, 2007.

“We are so proud of this new service. The need for additional flights from South Florida to Barbados was definitely there, and with this new flight we’re able to fill that void by providing travelers with increased convenience, choice and control when making their travel arrangements,” said Paul Pennicook, senior vice president, marketing Air Jamaica. “This flight also opens up additional options for travel throughout the Caribbean. This is just one more way Air Jamaica is meeting the needs of its passengers throughout the United States and the Caribbean,” says Pennicook.
