Air Jamaica Announces Strict Enforcement of One Piece of carry-on luggage

KINGSTON, Jamaica – Air Jamaica announces strict enforcement of the Civil Aviation Authority regulation of one piece of carry-on luggage per passenger, which includes liquor purchased at In-Bond stores.

With immediate effect, Air Jamaica will no longer permit passengers to board with liquor cartons in addition to their allotted one piece carry-on luggage. Carry-on luggage in excess of the one piece allotment per passenger, will not be permitted beyond the boarding gate, and as a result might not be accommodated on the flight.

Passengers are reminded that the following items are permitted in the cabin free of charge and are in addition to the one carry-on piece:

• Walking stick, cane or crutches
• Collapsible umbrella-type child stroller
• Handbag or pocketbook
• Small camera or binoculars
• Infant bag or carry baskets
• Briefcase/Attaché case, or Laptop computer with case

All flights will continue to feature Air Jamaica’s generous baggage allowance of two free pieces of checked luggage per passenger in Lovebird Economy Class and three free pieces per passenger in Lovebird Executive Class. Passengers should ensure that all bags meet the maximum weight and size requirements.
