Advertising Federation shops around for the best in diversity

MIAMI GARDENS – Now here’s a twist . . . . While most companies look around for the best ad agency to manage their coveted accounts, the Advertising Federation of Greater Miami (AdFed) plans to shop around for the best of its own kind!

On Thursday, February 22 from 9AM – Noon, AdFed will host an event entitled Diversity Marketplace: Shopping for Success. The event takes place at Silquis Restaurant, located at 2700 N.W. 167th Street in Miami Gardens. Cost is $15 for AdFed members and $20 for non-members. Lunch is included. The workshop includes up-close and candid discussions with powerhouse leaders in the business field. They will share their insights on best marketing practices in their fields.

“This is an awesome opportunity for business leaders and managers alike to come out and expand their knowledge in the areas of diversity,” says Kervin Clenance, VP and General Manager of Radio One’s WTPS, The People Station. “As a board member of AdFed and one of the organizers of the event, I know it will provide insights and opportunities never experienced before.”

During the workshop, executives will share the secrets of their success in the world of advertising. Learn how they combine creativity and style into their successful corporate and business settings. Panel discussion speakers include Jeff Bridges from the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, Bill Diggs from the Miami-Dade Chamber of Commerce, Carol Ann Taylor from Bayside to Go Marketplace, Eric Knowles from the Dolphin Stadium, Clyde Rucker from Burger King, and Cassandra Wiggins from Ocean Bank.

Some of the topics to be discussed include diversity demographics of south Florida; how to incorporate diversity practices into customer service; and advertising and marketing initiatives. Following the discussion, top off the sessions with delicious cultural food from Silquis. In addition, the program will be taped and broadcast on Black Digital Network (www.blackdigitalnetwork.com), America’s 24/7 ON DEMAND Black News Channel
