Absentee Ballot Rules for Military/Overseas Citizens – November 4th Election 50 Days away

MIAMI – With the November 4th election only 50 days away, eligible voters who want to insure their votes are counted are encouraged to request their absentee ballots now. This is important if you are a college student attending school out of town, persons living in a foreign country or US Military.

Overseas voters are defined by Florida Statutes as members of the uniformed services, members of the Merchant Marine of the United States, or other citizens of the United States and the District of Columbia, who are qualified and registered to vote as provided by law.

To request your absentee ballot, visit your county’s election website and complete the request form.

If you are eligible to vote and a resident of South Florida, visit the Broward’s Supervisor of Elections website for your absentee ballot at: www.browardsoe.org/Absenteeballotrequestoverseas.aspx or Miami Dade’s www.miamidade.gov/elections/voting_absent_earlyvoting_military.asp

Please note that the request is valid for only one (1) registered voter. If you are a qualified overseas registered voter, ballots will be mailed only for the elections checked. Ballots are mailed approximately 30 days prior to each election to those voters that have requested an absentee ballot. One request is deemed sufficient for 2 regularly scheduled
general elections.

If you are not an overseas voter, please use the regular Absentee Ballot Request Form to make your request. One request is deemed sufficient for two (2) regularly scheduled general elections.

ABSENTEE BALLOTS CANNOT BE FORWARDED

If you will not be at your South Florida address, please complete the MAIL BALLOT portion of the form with the address to which you want the ballot mailed.
