2nd Annual BlackLuxe Picnic and Music Festival Hits Boca Raton

Black History Celebratory weekend February 17-19, 2023

WEST PALM BEACH – Last February, Palm Beach County was privy to a fabulous event, The Blackluxe Picnic Festival (formerly Blackniq). Blackluxe Picnic Festival, which celebrates Black History Month and the excellence of the Black culture, saw roughly 1500 people travel from around the country to celebrate.

With the success of the inaugural event, the producers have embarked on a journey to make the Blackluxe Picnic Festival the pre-eminent celebration of Black History Month in South Florida. As such, with a few partnership organizers introduce a three-day Black History Celebratory weekend from February 17-19, 2023.

Black Leadership Summit

The weekend kickoff is on Friday, February 17, 2023, with the Black Leadership Summit. It will be held at the Boynton Beach Arts and Cultural Center, 125 E Ocean Ave, Boynton Beach, FL 33435.

The Summit’s theme “Unleashing Your Inner Potential” will feature keynote speaker Yvette Miley. Miley is the Senior VP, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion of NBCUniversal News Group. It will focus on topics such as leadership and business development, financial literacy, and education. Plus, innovation, mental and behavioral health building the nuclear family and more.

Proceeds from the Black Leadership Summit will provide scholarships through the B.O.L.D Foundation for students in Palm Beach County. The B.O.L.D Foundation (www.Bold-foundation.org), is a Palm Beach County non-profit organization aimed at building opportunities for leaders daily by supporting, educating, and empowering the next generation of aspiring leaders.

The weekend continues on Saturday, February 18 with the 2nd Annual South Florida BlackLuxe Picnic presented by 1-800-Call Lee from 2 pm to 9 pm at the Sunset Cove Amphitheater, located at 20405 Amphitheater Cir, Boca Raton, FL 33498.

Blackluxe is a music, food, and luxury picnic festival setting celebrating Black History Month and Black excellence. The event will feature live bands, renowned Djs, choreographed dance ensembles, and a special performance by singer-songwriter, Keke Wyatt.

Attendees are encouraged to dress to impress in derby style or South Florida Chic attire. While food and specialty vendors will be onsite, attendees have the option of bringing personal picnic tables, picnic blankets, and picnic-style foods. Additionally, attendees are encouraged to enter the $1,000 best picnic area competition presented by Uncle Nearest Premium Whiskey

Part proceeds from the event benefit the Love, Hope, and Healing Foundation whose mission is to enrich families and youth in the community by providing workshops that strengthen the family unit, exposing youth to potential career opportunities and educate individuals of a healthier lifestyle.

Sponsors of the event include The Aids Health Care Foundation, Humana and The Palm Beaches.

Frenzy

The weekend concludes with “Frenzy”, a fun-filled day of kayaking, snorkeling, and other beach activities. This takes place from 12 pm to 5 pm at Palm Beach County’s greatest attraction, Peanut Island.
