2016 St. Kitts Music Festival Artist Lineup Is Finalized

Basseterre, St. KittsThe St. Kitts Music Festival Committee has finalized the lineup of artists to appear on the 20th Anniversary production of the Festival, which takes places June 23 to 25, 2016.

The newest addition to the lineup of performers was announced on Friday night, June 10, 2016, by Ambassador Jonel Powell, who heads up the artist selection committee. He stated that the duo of brothers known as R. City, originally from the Caribbean and well known in the international music industry, are the final act to be added to the 20th Anniversary show.

City currently has a single that is very popular with a wide cross-section of music lovers entitled, Locked Away. They have written and produced for artistes such as Sean Kingston, Miley Cyrus, Nicki Minaj and Barbadian international sensation Rihanna.

According to Ambassador Powell, “We have presented what we believe is a fantastic group of artists to mark the 20th Anniversary of the St. Kitts Music Festival.”

Now entering its 20th year, the St. Kitts Music Festival attracts both locals and visitors alike.

It features a wide range of musical styles on the popular market, including R&B, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Reggae, Soca, Calypso, Gospel and Contemporary music.

Past artists have included such prominent acts as John Legend, Lionel Richie, Jason Derulo, Trey Songz, T-Pain, Michael Bolton, K.C. and the Sunshine Band, UB40’s Ali Campbell, Wyclef Jean, Ne-Yo, Air Supply, Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds, Shaggy, Kelly Rowland, Tessanne Chin, Toni Braxton, Beenie Man, The Commodores, Dionne Warwick, Billy Ocean, Sean Paul, Boyz II Men, King Konris, Stephen Marley, Regina Belle, Maxi Priest, Beres Hammond, Roberta Flack, Biggie Irie, Bunny Wailer and Lord Nelson.
