2008 Soca Monarch Bunji Garlin and Road March Queen Faye Ann Lyons to headline 24th Annual Miami Carnival

MIAMI – The 24th Annual Miami Carnival is set to take place on Sunday, October 12, 2008 at Bicentennial Park, downtown Miami. The parade of bands will begin at 12 noon sharp on 20th and NE 2nd Ave. Proceeds to 13th Street, East on 13th Street to Bayshore Drive. North on Bayshore Drive to Bicentennial Park.

The all-star line up of confirmed talent to perform include: Bunji Garlin(2008 Soca Monarch),Faye Ann Lyons(2008 Road March Queen), Shurwayne Winchester(Groovy Soca Monarch), Asylum Band, Gailann, Crossovah, Black Stalin, Che’Nelle( I fell in love with a DJ), Skinny Fabulous and Wen D’(London Soca Monarch),DJs from MIAMI – Dorenzo, Eternal Vibes, Gary Enforcement, Giselle D’ Wassi One, House Arrest, Maestro, Mixx 96 Crew, Soca Tech, Super C, and Tidal Wave Sound; from NEW YORK – Back to Basics, Fess, Natural Freaks, Rhythm International and Xtreme Productionz; from ORLANDO – Crown Prince and Tha Vibz; from ATLANTA – Ibis International, Jaspa, Stephen, Tony Tempo, Miami and Orlando Steelbands.

This celebration is one of South Florida’s premiere events that bring together South Florida’s multi-ethnic community to experience a unique cultural tradition known as Miami Carnival. Various local and international music bands, steel bands and local business vendors will provide live music, arts & crafts, authentic Caribbean foods and drinks. Attendees can join thousands of revelers as they jump and sway along the parade route in costumes of vibrant colors and intriguing designs.

Tickets can be purchased on line at www.MiamiCarnival.net or at the gate the day of the festival. Adults are $20 and children under 12 are free.
