10th Annual Lauderhill Maq T20 International Night Cricket Tournament

LAUDERHILL – Cricket Council U.S.A., Inc. (CCUSA) and The City of Lauderhill, are proud to announce that The 10th Annual LAUDERHILL MAQ T20 INTERNATIONAL NIGHT CRICKET TOURNAMENT will start on Saturday, January 29, 2011, at the Lauderhill Sports Park – 7500 W. Oakland Park Blvd, Lauderhill.

CCUSA, a professional sports and entertainment management company, and like Lauderhill, is firmly committed to the development of cricket throughout South Florida. As the tournament underwriter, CCUSA wishes to continue its close cricket relationship with the City of Lauderhill, which is the only municipality in all of North America with an ICC certified Cricket Stadium.

CCUSA and the City of Lauderhill together have enjoyed noted success over the years with its joint sponsorship of the tournament which has become a beloved component of the community, and part of Lauderhill’s Family Sports Night at the Lauderhill Sports Park – which includes a highly competitive Netball and Soccer Tournament.

Through the endorsement of the South Florida Cricket Alliance and Florida Southeast Cricket League, the LAUDERHILL MAQ T20 INTERNATIONAL NIGHT CRICKET TOURNAMENT has achieved the reputation as one of America’s largest and most-popular night cricket tournament. Last year’s tournament proved to be the biggest and one of the most exciting tournaments – as pooled resources between Lauderhill and CCUSA allowed the tournament finalist to received prize monies.

Mayor Richard J. Kaplan, competition originator states, “I am proud to see how this innovative International Night T-20 competition has evolved and been a catalyst of growth to the sport of cricket in the United States of America over the last 10 years. The competition has for many years been unifying the community while celebrating the contribution that cricket brings to the City of Lauderhill – the Cricket Capital of the USA.”

According to Jeff Miller, V.P. of Operations “CCUSA will continue to support and raise the profile of cricket within the City of Lauderhill and we look forward to another exciting and entertaining tournament. We will use our resources to promote cricket’s fast growing T20 format, through our widely influential domestic and international network of cricket enthusiasts.”

Opening ceremonies are scheduled for January 29, 2011, at 4:00pm.
