100 Black Men of Greater Fort Lauderdale award 100 Academic Achievers with new bikes

FT. LAUDERDALE – Good grades and improved behavior pay off for 100 Broward County students who were specially selected to receive brand new bicycles from The 100 Black Men of Greater Fort Lauderdale (100BMOGFL). In an effort to acknowledge students who are continuously making progress, the 100BMOGFL partnered with 16 Broward County schools to provide new bicycles in time for the holiday season.

“For the third consecutive year the 100BMOGFL will award students in Broward County with new bicycles for their scholastic achievements. The 100 Annual Bike Drive has become a signature event for our organization and we are very proud of the 100 students that will be receiving new bicycles. Often times our youth feel their hard work is only recognized in the classroom, the 100 Annual Bike drive demonstrates an appreciation for academic excellence from the community. The goal is for the 100BMOGFL to continue to award 100 bikes annually to promote scholastic improvement,” said Dennis Wright, President of 100BMOGFL.

The shiny two-wheelers will be given out on Saturday, December 6th 10:00am – 2:00pm at Central Broward Regional Park located at 3700 NW 11th Place in Lauderhill (on 441 North of Sunrise Boulevard on the East side of the road). The awards presentation and bike giveaway will take place at 12 noon. Many local officials are expected to attend. The bicycle recipients, family members, and school board attendees will also have lunch with members of the 100BMOGFL.
