Winter Solstice Meditation at Jackie’s on the Reef Spa calls for return of Sacred Feminine Energy

MONTEGO BAY, Jamaica – There was no fear, anxiety or foreboding when a group of spiritually-minded associates and spiritual leaders met at Jackie’s On The Reef Spa on December 21, 2012 to welcome the arrival of the Winter Solstice.

Sa’Enya McBean, facilitator, guided the spiritually-mined group into an eight minute meditation. After which they shared what they brought away from it and cleansed themselves with ‘blessed’ water. Jackie Lewis, owner, Jackie’s on the Reef, and wellness practitioner, said this is a time for women to focus on self, not to be selfish, rather to nurture and honor oneself –one’s temple. Then giving to others would be a natural outcome.

Sharon Parris-Chambers, author, “Poetry from the Rose of Sharon: Divine Thoughts and Inspirations for Living Well” asked the group to take into meditation the desire to empower women and to rid the world of violence perpetrated against women. She recalled the experience of Grace, a member of the Barry G Syndicate who had recently died from abuse, the result of a four-day old marriage in India.

The group of nine women and two men were treated to a healthy salmon pasta lunch with pickled pear juice by Jackie. There was a serene and powerful vibration around the entire place, which made it difficult to leave the gathering.

The resource material shared with the group by Jackie Lewis indicated that the vibration-filled event experienced by the group, and others around the world at the same time, would extend to December 22, 2012 when Venus (Het-Heru/Oshun) would remain in the earth’s orbit for the entire day. “It would be a powerful time to enhance one’s romance, love, music, dance, the arts and money, she said.”

For some, this marks a period of trepidation as doomsayers anticipate the end of the world. All the Mayan Calendars end on December 21, 2012 and the meaning of this has been a source of great speculation worldwide. Renowned Astrophysicist Neal DeGrasse Tyson has reflected on many questions regarding the end of the world from differing perspectives regarding the Mayan long count and short count calendars.

According to Tyson, the Sun – Earth and – Center of the galaxy align at this time every year. “Where were you last year?” The Mayan calendars are set to re-start at the end of December 2012 and life does indeed continue.
