United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) expands Immigration Officer Training Capacity

WASHINGTON – As part of a focused commitment to advance and transform into a more flexible and efficient agency, United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced the integration of three new state-of-the-art training facilities into the USCIS Academy aimed at building a workforce and immigration service suited for the 21st century.

The facilities are strategically located in Dallas, Texas at American Airlines Training Center and IDEARC Hotel and Conference Center and the other in Lansdowne, Virginia at the National Conference Center.

These education facilities will serve as a fresh and flexible environment to better address the needs of the agency by increasing the capacity to bring new employees onboard faster. This increased training capacity will ensure each staff member is focused, well equipped and job ready upon completion of the course.

According to USCIS Director, Emilio Gonzalez, “The incorporation of these new facilities into the USCIS Academy plays a critical role in shaping the future of this agency. This advances the organization by developing a highly educated and professional workforce, equipped with the necessary knowledge, capabilities and skills to enable USCIS to deliver its critical mission.

Moreover, these facilities will enhance the agility and focus to confront the complex national security challenges ahead, provide excellence in customer service, and operate effectively across inter-office and organizational boundaries.”

Since its establishment in July 2007, the Academy has developed into an institution known for shaping the agency’s workforce towards immigration expertise, fostering a culture that honors public service, while emphasizing the significance of national security and public safety.

The USCIS Academy experience highlights the human aspect of every USCIS decision, by cultivating the highest standards of professionalism and ethical conduct.
