U.S. Elections Expert to Meet with University Students in Jamaica and Youth arm of Political Parties
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Gary Nordlinger, president of Nordlinger Associates, a Washington D.C. political and public affairs consulting firm, will visit Jamaica on October 2 and 3 to discuss and explain the U.S. election process, importance of the youth vote and the role of the media in the current Presidential election campaign. His visit is funded by the U.S. State Department, through the U.S. Embassy’s Public Affairs Section.
During his visit, Mr. Nordlinger will be keynote speaker on the topic, “Media and Communications in the U.S. Elections” at a public lecture for students and faculty at Northern Caribbean University in Mandeville, Manchester on October 2. He will join undergraduate and graduate students at a seminar to be held the University of the West Indies, Mona campus on the same day.
Mr. Nordlinger is also slated to hold roundtable discussions at the U.S. Embassy in Kingston with members of the media as well as representatives of the youth arms of the two major Jamaican political parties.
Nordlinger Associates has provided political and communications strategies and analysis for hundreds of public officials, associations, labor unions and corporations in 26 countries on six continents. Mr. Nordlinger is a leading expert at using quantitative research to design winning communications strategies. Despite some very difficult campaigns, his record in general elections for the U.S. Congress is 78-7.
A judicially recognized expert witness on survey research, Mr. Nordlinger is an adjunct professor at the Graduate School of Public Policy at George Mason University. He was a Sorensen Fellow of Political Leadership at the University of Virginia and has also been an adjunct professor at American, George Washington and Florida International universities. He is a trainer in the Campaigns and Elections programs and consults with international visitors through U.S. State Department and other exchange programs.
He holds a Juris Doctor from George Washington University National Law Center and a Master’s degree in political science. He has worked for the United States Congress, the AFL-CIO, the Bureau of Social Science Research, and the Montgomery County Council in the State of Maryland.
