Turks and Caicos Hotel and Tourism Association wins awards at Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association’s (CHTA) Annual Leadership Conference

PROVIDENCIALES, Turks and Caicos Islands – Representative of the Turks and Caicos Hotel and Tourism Association (TCHTA) participated in the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association’s (CHTA) Annual Leadership Conference earlier this month.

The annual conference, which was held by the Caribbean Society of Hotel Association Executive (CSHAE), an umbrella organisation of the CHTA, was held between March 29th and April 2nd.

The purpose of the annual event is to provide attendees with opportunities for professional development and to help foster progress throughout the hotel industry in the Caribbean. TCHTA CEO, Caesar Campbell who attended the conference stated that “These conferences provide association executives the opportunity to network and share information with each other.

Especially during these current economic times, when we are all feeling the pinch of lower visitor arrivals, we are able to share experiences, compare strategies that have worked or not and learn new approaches we may be able to apply in our own destinations. Now more than ever, it is necessary that we identify opportunities and review creative ways to position our tourism product as one of the finest in the Caribbean region.”

At the CHTA Leadership Conference the TCHTA was presented with an award for the most Newsworthy Electronic Newsletter for the Association’s quarterly newsletter “Spotlight”, written and designed by Bornewell Marketing Ltd. Spotlight was selected as the winning electronic newsletter by Lou Hammond & Associates, one of the largest travel Public Relations firms in North America.

The criteria for its selection included a presentable design and layout, consistent reader-friendly communication that provides members with information on the industry including TCHTA initiatives and involvement in community activities.

Caesar Campbell, proud of the recognition, as this is first time the TCHTA had received such an award, commented “We were pleased to learn that we won the award for our electronic newsletter.

Our newsletter is delivered quarterly to our members and is geared toward sharing information on the hotel and tourism sectors as well as recognizing the achievements of our members, and providing insight into opportunities for marketing, networking, education and training within the tourism industry.” At the conference, Caesar Campbell was also re-elected as a Director of the Executive Committee of the CSHAE.
