Trinidad and Tobago named “Country of the Year” by Energy Magazine in Association with the Offshore Technology Conference
(BusinessWire)-Conscientiously serving the energy community, business interests and consumer concerns, Energy(TM) Magazine announced last week at the Offshore Technology Conference that the 2005 “Country of the Year” is Trinidad and Tobago.
The announcement was accompanied by a Proclamation by the City of Houston and by Harris County Judge, the Honorable Robert Eckels, at a breakfast reception at the Houstonian Hotel and Conference Center in Houston, Texas.
Judge Eckles presented a plaque to Hon. Eric A. Williams, the Trinidad and Tobago Minister of Energy. Minister Williams stated, “I am excited and proud that Energy(TM) Magazine in conjunction with the Offshore Technology Conference selected my country as ‘Country of the Year’! We love America, Texas and especially Houston for giving us such an unexpected honor. In the years to come our relationship can only provide a friendly energy source for America and jobs for both our countries.” He continued, “As the energy industry continually grows, it is critical that the important issues facing our countries and our industry be addressed in a thoughtful manner from many different areas.”
Also in attendance was Houston Vice Mayor Mark Goldberg and Dr. Harold Roberston, Consul General of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, New York.
