The Third Caribbean Voice Business awards expected to be Marquee Event
NEW YORK – Under the theme ‘Linking the Diaspora With the Region’ The Third Caribbean Voice Business Award, scheduled for the Holiday Inn Select, 450 Capitol Avenue, in Atlanta on Saturday August 25 is expected to be a marquee event according to Annan Boodram, editor of the Caribbean Voice newspaper.
The premier event of its kind, The Caribbean Voice Business Awards honors outstanding Caribbean business persons from around the world.
This year’s honorees include Nohar Singh, president of TravelSpan Airlines; Frederick Morton, Vice-President at MTV; VP Records; Joy Bramble, founder of the Baltimore Times group of newspapers; Dr. Cardinal Warde, Professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, inventor and founder of two technology companies; Rohit Jagessar of RBC Radio and movie producer (Guiana 1838); Colette Phillips of Colette Phillips Communications Worldwide; Neysha Sodeen of Toute Bagai Publishing in Trinidad & Tobago; Verna Wilkins, founder of Tamarind Ltd.., a publishing company in the UK; Ricky Wade, owner of a series of McDonald’s franchises in Florida; Victor Ramdin, entrepreneur with varied business interests and Joseph Rhoden, Vice President of Antilles Freight Corporation.
“Not only are these honorees pioneering entrepreneurs but they all have track records of giving back to their various communities,” explained Boodram. “Also our honorees reflect the multi ethnicities and nationalities of the Caribbean,” Boodram added.
Previous honorees include Leith Yetman, Founder/President, New York Institute of Business Technology; Patrick Weithers, President, Nu-Pulse Company; Rico Duprey, founder of Radio do Soleil; fashion designer, Francis Hendy; the CARICOM Secretariat; the University of Guyana; Western Union; Laparkan Group of Companies; Golden Krust Inc.; Marlon Seenarine, President, MGN Funding; Dr Henry Frank, Executive Director, Haitian Centers Council and Scott Susskind First Republic Mortgage Bank.
Each business awards is addressed by Caribbean’s of distinction.
This year’s speaker is Chairman of the Caribbean Tourism Organization, the Honorable Allen Chastanet, Minister of Tourism of St. Lucia.
