[TAMARAC] – The City of Tamarac’s Black History Month Celebration includes a new virtual keynote speaker, Katrina Jones.  Jones is the Diversity and Inclusion Leader at Amazon Web Services.  In addition, there will be an additional performance by singer Rochelle Lightfoot. Plus Radio personality Shelby Rushin will host this free event.

This free event starts at 6 p.m. and is being held at the Tamarac Sports Complex, 9901 NW 77th St.

Honoring Local Community Leaders

Tamarac’s Mayor and Commission will recognize and honor local community leaders during the event and attendees will enjoy live poetry by Rebecca “Butterfly” Vaughn, performances by Delou African Dance Ensemble, vocals by Rochelle Lightfoot, and cultural art displays.

Registration, face masks and social distancing are required to attend in-person. Families can reserve a 12 x 12-foot space for up to six people. The event can also be viewed virtually.
