Supt. Robert Runcie is Keynote speaker at MBHSIAA Grand Reunion Gala

SUNRISE – Robert Runcie, Superintendent of Broward County Public Schools (BCPS), the sixth largest school district in the country, is the keynote speaker at the Montego Bay High School International Alumnae Association’s (MBHSIAA) Fourth Annual Grand Reunion Gala.

Runcie who became superintendent of the Broward County School District in October 2011 is a native of Jamaica. “We are very delighted to have Superintendent Robert Runcie speak at our event this year, his success and leadership in education and business serves as a positive role model for us all”, says MBHSIAA Chair, Ms. Karen Morris-Clarke.

The Grand Gala will be held at 7pm on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at the Double Tree Hilton Hotel at Sawgrass in Sunrise, Florida. The Reunion weekend kicks off at the hotel on Friday, Oct 17th at 8pm with a Meet and Greet reception for alumnae and patrons; then ends on Sunday, Oct. 19th with a Farewell Fun Day and Beach Olympics at the John U. Lloyd State Park in Dania Beach from noon to 5pm.

MBHSIAA is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization with alumnae spanning throughout the United States, Canada, Europe and the Caribbean. MBHSIAA was organized to promote networking and foster camaraderie among affiliate members and also to satisfy some of the longstanding needs of their Alma Mater, Montego Bay High School for girls.

This year’s proceeds from the Grand Gala and Reunion weekend will be used to fund the purchase of a piano for the school and scholarships for students.
