State Representative Hazelle Rogers Thanks Her Supporters

LAUDERDALE LAKES – State Representative Hazelle Rogers thanks her supporters following her re-election on Tuesday, November 4th.

First, I want to start by saying thank you. So many of you have poured your energy, heart and soul, into Florida Democrats over the last few weeks and months, and as a member of team Charile Crist, team Commissioner-elect Beverly Williams, team Congressman Hastings, team Rep. Clarke-Reed, team Commissioner Thomas Dorsett we are all truly grateful.

While I know that tonight’s (last night’s) result in the Governor’s race was not what none of us had hoped for, that does not mean that our work was in vain.

This election, every election is about the issues that affect the lives of every Floridian. The right of workers to organize, a fair minimum wage, access to healthcare, equal pay for equal work, equal rights for everyone. These are the issues that this election was about, and they are not going away.

I am so sad that we lost Judge Ian Richards, that is a major loss when we continue to advocate for more black and minority appointment of judges and cannot sustain a black judge in Broward county.

I offer my congratulations to Governor Rick Scott, I look forward to getting back to work and to working with Governor Scott and the 160 members of the legislature.

This was a very difficult year for Democrats across the country, but Florida  Democrats fought hard, our Democratic values are alive and will never change, and we should be proud of our hard work.

Thank you for re-electing me and for working with me.

Always in service.

Hazel Rogers
Hazelle Rogers State Representative, District 95
