St. Kitts participates in the New York Times Travel Show

Basseterre, St. Kitts – This February, representatives of the St. Kitts Tourism Authority will offer a tempting glimpse into the scenic natural beauty, rich heritage and genuinely welcoming people of the destination to thousands of potential visitors and travel professionals through their participation in The New York Times Travel Show.

St. Kitts will be an exhibitor at The New York Times Travel Show, held from February 6-8, 2009 at the Jacob K. Javits convention center in the heart of midtown Manhattan. Over the course of the three-day event, numerous show attendees are expected to visit the St. Kitts booth where representatives of the St. Kitts Tourism Authority will provide a first-hand experience of true Kittitian hospitality, offering useful information and answering any questions asked about the island.

Many tempting giveaways and complimentary tastings of various flavors of St. Kitts’ own Brinley Gold Rum will be offered at the St. Kitts booth. As a special treat, authentic Kittitian masquerades will be teaching some of their traditional folkloric dances on the center stage on Saturday at 1:00pm and 4:00pm and Sunday at 12:00pm and 1:00pm to attendees who want to have a little extra fun. Brochures and other materials will be given to attendees to take home, so learning more about St. Kitts will continue even after the Show ends!

Perhaps the most anticipated part of the daily excitement, round-trip air from JFK to St. Kitts on American Airlines and various three-night hotel stays will be promoted at the main show stage during 20 minutes of each day specially allotted to St. Kitts and then be raffled at the St. Kitts Booth. Hotels from St. Kitts & Nevis donating stays include the St. Kitts Marriott Resort & Casino, Ocean Terrace Inn, Hermitage Plantation, Oualie Beach Resort, Timothy Beach Resort, Frigate Bay Beach Resort, Mount Nevis Hotel and The Royal St. Kitts Hotel & Casino.
