St. Kitts and Nevis discusses future co-operation with Taiwan’s ICDF delegation

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – Future cooperation between St. Kitts and Nevis and the Republic of China on Taiwan was discussed in Basseterre, the St. Kitts and Nevis capital.

St. Kitts and Nevis Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affiars, Hon. Sam Condor discussed the matter with a three-member Taiwanese delegation led by His Excellency Ambassador TAO Wen-Lung, Secretary General of Taiwan’s International Cooperation and Development Fund (Taiwan ICDF).

The ICDF Team, which included Director Clifford Li and Project Tiffany Ching-Ting Peng of the Technical Cooperation Department, inspected the operations of the Taiwan Technical Mission stationed in the Federation.

The delegation inspected all existing bilateral cooperation projects including agriculture, agro-processing, horticulture and Information Communications Technology (ICT).

Ambassador TAO Wen-Lung, who was accompanied by Resident Ambassador His Excellency Tsao, in separate discussions with Prime Minister Douglas and Deputy Prime Minister Condor, exchanged views on future cooperation norms including emphasis on project orientation and project transfer.

Prime Minister Douglas and Deputy Prime Minister Condor welcomed Ambassador TAO’s visit, applauded the work of the Technical Mission, and expressed the hope that the Taiwan ICDF could continue to provide technical assistance in various areas.
