St. Kitts and Nevis and the United States to sign Memorandum of Understanding
BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS – St. Kitts and Nevis and the United States of America will sign an agreement on Thursday in the fight against illegal trafficking.
St. Kitts and Nevis’ Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas and Charge d’Affaires at the Bridgetown-based Embassy of the United States of America to Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean, Dr. Brent Hardt, will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in the Prime Minister’s Office in Basseterre.
The United States Embassy in Barbados said signing of the MOU will facilitate the implementation of the Secure Seas Programme which will enhance mutual cooperation in the fight against illicit trafficking.
This cooperation is a continuation of the Caribbean Basin Security Initiative. The Secure Seas Program will provide Maritime equipment and training to the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force.
