U.S. Embassy Nassau Launches a New Web-Based Visa Application System

NASSAU, Bahamas – On March 11, 2013, the U.S. Embassy in Nassau will launch a new web-based appointment system that affects visa applicants throughout the Commonwealth of The Bahamas and the Turks and Caicos Islands. There will not be a fee increase associated with these changes.

With the new system, applicants will now pay the application fee at a local Cash ‘N Go location. After the fee is paid, applicants will be able to schedule an appointment using the new web-based system at http://usvisa-info.com/. Applicants residing on New Providence or Grand Bahama will now have their passport and visa delivered by courier to a local DHL office.

The new visa application process is part of a new global web-based system that the U.S. Department of State is implementing worldwide. U.S. visa applicants will now be able to schedule their own appointment on the website instead of having to call the call center. The new web-based appointment system offers greater flexibility for scheduling, rescheduling and canceling appointments. The new system also eliminates the cost of a “scratch card,” making the visa application process less expensive than before.
