Abaco, The Bahamas – Several Sport-Fishing Tournaments will be taking place late spring and early summer 2016 at host venue Abaco Beach Resort and Boat Harbour Marina.
Next year, five Sport-Fishing Tournaments will take place between April and June. Both the organizers and Abaco Beach Resort expect the series to attract avid fishermen from around the globe.
Sport-Fishing Tournaments schedule:
- The White Marlin Roundup: April 27-30, 2016
- The Bahamas Billfish Championship Marsh Harbour Championship: April 27- May 2
- The Custom Shootout: May 11-14, 2016 (Invitation Only)
- The Shootout: Production vs. Custom: May 25-28, 2016
- The Abaco Beach Blue Marlin Tournament: June 8-11, 2016
The White Marlin Roundup will be a new addition to the roster next year and it will give competitors the opportunity to demonstrate new fishing techniques.
The second of the five-leg Bahamas Billfish Championship Anglers competition also will be hosted in Marsh Harbour where anglers will have the opportunity to pursue for the biggest catches in the area.
The other three tournaments are aptly named the Abaco Diamond Series and they will be presented by Diamond Fishing Products. Each is designed to show proficiency in three different billfish formats.
The Shootout: Production vs. Custom pits a fleet of the most elite production boats against custom-made sport-fishing boats in an all-release format and the Custom Shootout will feature approximately 50 of the finest U.S.-manufactured inboard sport-fishing boats participating in the 15th edition of this annual event.
Offering hundreds of dollars in total cash prizes and based on 25 boats per tournament, the Abaco Diamond Series offers heart-pounding action and bragging rights rewards for anglers. The entry fee is $6,000 per tournament or $10,000 for the series.
