South Florida Super Bowl Host Committee Achieve Volunteer Goals

MIAMI GARDENS – The South Florida Super Bowl Host Committee is pleased to announce we have successfully recruited more than 6,000 volunteers for the 2010 Pro Bowl and Super Bowl XLIV. And we’re not stopping there.

“The South Florida community has really showed their support for our record breaking 10th Super Bowl as well as the 2010 Pro Bowl. Our Host Committee Ambassadors are eager to show the world why South Florida is the premiere Super Bowl and now Pro Bowl destination” said South Florida Super Bowl Host Committee Chairman Rodney Barreto.

The exact number of volunteers needed is still a work in progress as we consult with the NFL. With that said, the Host Committee has exceeded our recruitment goal of 6,000 and will accept 2,000 more volunteers. Registration closes on November 30, 2009. Due to an overwhelming demand for volunteer opportunities, recruitment efforts could be closed early if applications exceed 8,000 before the deadline.

In the meantime, the South Florida Super Bowl Host Committee will continue to hold recruitment rallies and community events throughout Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach Counties. Those upcoming events will all be posted on our web site at www.southfloridasuperbowl.com

If you’re interested in becoming an Ambassador, you should contact the Host Committee as soon as possible to secure your spot within the Ambassador Program. The application can be found on our Host Committee web site, or can be directly mailed to you. Please contact the Volunteer Services Department with any questions at 305-614-7564. Samplings of volunteer opportunities include assisting at NFL Fan Plaza, greeting guests at South Florida hotels and airports, administrative duties and special events.
