South City Plaza Hotel debuts in Grenada

ST. GEORGE’S, Grenada – The Grenada Board of Tourism is proud to announce the opening of the brand new South City Plaza Hotel, located near to Grenada’s world-class Grand Anse Beach. The property caters to both leisure and business travelers, offering a host of amenities for both.

“This new property is a welcome addition to Grenada,” said Jocelyn Sylvester-Gairy, Director of Tourism for the Grenada Board of Tourism. “Business travel is important to the tourism sector and it is very beneficial to have a property that caters to this type of clientele.”

The South City Plaza Hotel features 24 standard rooms, each equipped with a king-sized bed, mini refrigerator, high speed Internet access, a work-station with office chair, microwave, coffee maker, iron, telephone, hair dryer, private balcony, cable television and a private bathroom. The property also features one presidential suite that includes a lounge area, kitchenette with bar, vaulted ceiling, Jacuzzi bath and a blender.

The resort also includes a state-of-the-art convention center, banking, an Internet café, Food Court and restaurant, a pharmacy, a supermarket, a full-service fitness center and 25 duty free retail shops, all under one roof.

The conference facilities at the South City Plaza Hotel can hold up to 300 persons theatre style and 100 banquet style. Coffee break, lunch and cocktail parties can be arranged as part of the package upon request.

Future plans for the hotel include the addition of 50 new rooms, as well another restaurant that is scheduled to open by the end of the year.

Rates begin at $145.00 per night for a standard room and $220.00 per night for the suite.

Grenada can be reached from the U.S. with Air Jamaica’s non-stop service from JFK/New York, three days a week. Air Jamaica also offers connecting service on intra-regional carriers at Barbados. Grenada can also be reached by BWIA daily from New York and Miami and three times a week from Washington, DC via Barbados or Port-of-Spain, Trinidad, and American Eagle, via San Juan.
