SBA Partners with Minority Business Development Agency Business Center – Miami to Help Small Businesses

MIAMI – The U.S. Small Business Administration South Florida District Office signed a Strategic Alliance Memorandum today with the Minority Business Development Agency Business Center – Miami in an effort to strengthen and expand small business development in Miami.  The SAM was signed by South Florida District Director Francisco “Pancho” A. Marrero on behalf of the SBA.  Marie R. Gill, Executive Director of the MBDA Business Center will sign the SAM at the luncheon during the “Today’s Women Mean Business” Conference on Friday, December 16, 2011 in Miami Gardens, FL.

Under the formal partnership agreement, the Center will work with the SBA’s South Florida District Office to market SBA’s business development services and loan programs to Miami’s small and minority owned businesses served by the MBDA Business Center.

SBA helps entrepreneurs start and grow strong businesses that create jobs and strengthen communities through loan guaranties, federal contracting assistance, and small business training and counseling.  The MBDA Business Center is a non-profit program of the U.S. Department of Commerce that promotes the growth and global competitiveness of the minority business community, making them better equipped to create jobs, impact local economies and compete successfully in domestic and global marketplaces.

“This agreement reflects SBA’s commitment to partner with other federal agencies and local organizations that can help us reach our customers with the valuable resources and assistance we have to offer that will enable them to succeed in the marketplace particularly at this crucial time in our nation’s economic recovery” said Mr. Marrero.

“We welcome this opportunity to work closely with the SBA to offer the full range of services that will benefit minority entrepreneurs and small businesses in South Florida” said Ms. Gill.
