Sandals Resorts CEO, Adam Stewart Named Caribbean Hotelier of the Year
Minister McNeill Congratulates Adam Stewart on being Named Caribbean Hotelier of the Year
Kingston, Jamaica – Jamaica’s Minister of Tourism and Entertainment, Hon. Dr. Wykeham McNeill, has congratulated Chief Executive Officer of Sandals Resorts International (SRI), Adam Stewart, on being named the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association (CHTA) “Caribbean Hotelier of the Year”, describing it is a “well deserved honour”.
The award was presented to Adam Stewart yesterday (October 4) during the Caribbean Hospitality Industry Exchange Forum (CHIEF), which took place Oct. 2 – 4, 2015 at El Conquistador Resort, A Waldorf Astoria Resort in Puerto Rico.
In a congratulatory message to the SRI CEO, Minister McNeill said that Adam Stewart has “displayed leadership, innovation, and the highest standards of professionalism.”
“You have ensured that the Sandals chain has maintained its reputation as the standard against which the region’s resorts are measured. Not only has the Sandals brand been the beneficiary of your hard work, but brand Jamaica too,” the Minister added.
Minister McNeill ended by saying Jamaica and the Ministry look forward to Stewart’s continued success and his sterling contribution to regional tourism, which is a leader in the economic growth of all Caribbean countries.
Adam Stewart is the 35th recipient of this prestigious award. His father, Hon. Gordon “Butch” Stewart, was also CHTA Hotelier of the Year in 1992.
