Reggae Song competition finalists set to perform at 12th Annual Reggae Soca Music Awards

Reggae Song competition finalists NNeka, Journalist, and Kev, were the top three winners from the first annual Reggae Song competition held throughout the summer. These finalist will perform at the 12th Annual Reggae Soca Music Awards scheduled for Saturday, November 5, 8pm at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts.

This annual star studded event is the highlight of the Reggae music industry. Artiste will be given top honors at this illustrious Caribbean award music show in the areas of Reggae, Soca, Dancehall, and Calypso music.

In addition to the twenty-five categories, awards will be given to the following artists:

Reggae Living Legend : Burning Spear

Soca Living Legend: Singing Sandra

Life time achievement award: Ronnie Burke (Synergy)

“The Louise Bennett Distinction award”: Charles Hyatt

“The vintage artist award”: The Melodians

Scheduled to appear are Marcia Griffiths, Freddie McGregor, Kashief Lindo, Ritchie Spice, Glen Washington, Annette Brissette, DYCR, TOK, Fiona, Lloyd Brown, Calib, Coco Tea, Knatty King, Marvia Providence 2 of a Kind, plus many others.

This year’s event will be hosted by Fae Ellington & Mutabaruka.

In addition to the award show, there will be a Music Seminar, which will be held on Saturday, November 5 from 11am to 2pm at the Broward Center For the Performing Arts- The New River Room.
