LEASA INDUSTRIES promotes Andrew P. Yap to President and Chief Operating Officer

Caribbean owned LEASA Industries has appointed Andrew P. Yap as President and Chief Operating Officer.

Since joining LEASA in 1994, Yap worked through various positions including Marketing Director, Vice President of Marketing, and Sr. Vice President before becoming the company’s current President and Chief Operating Officer.

LEASA was established in 1977, and has become the largest grower of bean and alfalfa sprouts and one of the largest manufacturers of tofu in Florida.
The company recently launched its newest product LEASA Gourmet Soy Cookies, in three varieties (Chocolate Chip, Oatmeal Raisin, and Peanut butter).

As president and Chief operating officer, Yap plans to grow the $5.4 million family-owned business into a world class organization with international distribution and global recognition. Under his leadership, quality-focused programs are being implemented that will allow LEASA to better position itself to rapidly respond to competitive threats while maximizing profitability on an aggressive growth strategy.

Yap is also a marketing and management instructor for the College of Business
at Florida International University and a faculty member for FIU’s Global
Entrepreneurship Center. He plans to write and publish textbooks in both
Small Business Marketing and Small Business Management in upcoming years. Yap has already successfully published a total of 14 test banks for various textbooks in the areas of Marketing, Management, and International Business over the past 4 years. Yap lives in Miami with his wife Diahann and two children, Amanda and Ryan.

LEASA’s products are available throughout Florida, Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina, Tennessee, the Caribbean and Alaska.
