OAS Secretary General to travel to Haiti tomorrow

WASHINGTON – The Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), José Miguel Insulza, will travel tomorrow to Port-au-Prince, Haiti, to personally assess the damage caused by the devastating earthquake of January 12 and see for himself the emergency and rescue efforts provided to the victims.

During his stay, the Secretary General will meet with the President of Haiti, René Preval, and Haitian Prime Minister Jean-Max Bellerive, among other authorities.
