North Miami Mayor, Smith Joseph Honors Trailblazers During Haitian Heritage Month
North Miami – North Miami Mayor, Dr. Smith Joseph, will host a private reception sponsored by Humana in commemoration of Haitian Heritage Month on Thursday, May 12th, at 6:00 p.m., in the MOCA Paradise Courtyard.

The Mayor’s Outstanding Community Builders Award Reception will recognize prominent and influential Haitian-American pioneers in the community and abroad.
The event will include remarks by City of Miami Mayor, Tomas Regalado, and Haiti’s Minister of Haitians Living Abroad, Jessy C. Petit Frere, with musical selections by North Miami’s rising star, LaVie, and many others.
The individuals being honored represent the Haitian community’s innovators and rising stars across a wide range of industries and backgrounds. The honorees have demonstrated outstanding achievement and success in their profession, proven themselves to be forces for change, and have helped to create a better understanding of Haiti and the Haitian community.
