Lion Heart’s beginnings couldn’t be more Jamaican. We take you back some ten years to a large verandah nestled under a cool shade. In the center, a small but passionate group of Jamaicans exchange personal views on issues and ideas. The talking is silenced when someone offers the notion of producing new local beers. A new generation of Jamaican beers. Within seconds, the voices start up in agreement. It makes perfect sense.
In the years that follow, this core group quietly nurtures its project, attracting to the table individuals with complimentary skills and backgrounds. In 1999, the team locates a set of state-of-the-art brewing equipment that is available both in terms of proximity and cost. The timing cannot be more perfect. The decision to purchase is unanimous and definitive. With this pivotal move, the group becomes a company… and the dream shapes into reality.
